Earth day

'We Earth Men have a talent for ruining big, beautiful things. The only reason we didn’t set up hot-dog stands in the midst of the Egyptian temple of Karnak is because it was out of the way and served no large commercial purpose' - Ray Douglas Bradbury.

Those words were written more than 50 years ago by one of the most significant writers of 20th century whose keenly sensitive soul anticipated  the emergence of not only some of already existing modern technologies, but also the social problems associated with them.

Time is running and humankind is keep seeking fragile a balance between development and expansion on the one hand and sustainability and security on the other. Hopefully, the global environmental movement is growing in popularity and getting more and more people involved so we can hope for a suspension of destructive activity against our habitat.

Earth Day is celebrated in the heart of the spring when with bated breath we contemplate the rebirth of nature that provides us with everything needed to live and thrive on this planet - air to breathe, water to nourish and cleanse our bodies, earthly gifts to feed them, natural materials to build homes, make household items and clothes, and all of this in total - to express our creativity and enjoy every single moment of being alive and receptive to the surrounding beauty
