Local students visited us interested in environmental awareness.
We watched an excerpt from David Attenborough’s documentary on how animals and nature utilize colors. What meaning colors have in nature, and their roles in the animal kingdom, what animals see, and why their colors are what they are. We learned that since there is so much we fail to perceive, we actually see very little of the world. We discussed ways to protect our environment, why composting is good, and how to make compost ourselves.
In the end, the kids saw our garden. In return, we gave the school principle a bird feeder.
